Our Story
Early Foundations
HCPL’s roots can be traced back to the early 1980s when we began as two distinct entities—Hydrogeosurvey for groundwater exploration and Geosurvey for mineral investigations. Our founders recognized the growing demand for reliable and accurate surveys, quickly earning a reputation for excellence across India.
Formation of HCPL
In 1988, these two operations merged to form Hydro-Geosurvey Consultants Private Limited (HCPL), combining expertise in both groundwater and mineral exploration. This strategic consolidation expanded our capabilities, enabling us to tackle more complex environmental and geological challenges.
Expansion and Growth
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, HCPL experienced steady growth. Our portfolio diversified to include critical studies such as groundwater pollution assessments, wastewater recycling projects, artificial groundwater recharge, and land reclamation initiatives. Each project reflected our commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Leadership with Global Expertise
At the helm of HCPL is Dr. V.B. Khilnani, our esteemed Managing Director. With a distinguished career at the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Dr. Khilnani retired at the senior-most level after decades of dedicated service. His vast experience includes a 10-year posting in Tanzania, along with significant contributions in several countries, including the USA. Dr. Khilnani is renowned in India for his quality work in groundwater management and has also worked with numerous multinational corporations (MNCs) across India. His leadership is instrumental in driving HCPL’s commitment to excellence.
